To start off I would like to say that I have a MacBook Pro 2012 13 inch, which is a non-retina, and I have had the 16gb RAM upgrade working perfectly for a week.

I was debating whether or not to get the 8gb or the 16gb RAM upgrade, because Apple states that my MacBook can only support up to an 8gb, however on the forums I visited, Crucial stated that they have tested 16gb and it works. I figured that I would take the chance and ordered the 16gb, I probably would have needed to upgrade again eventually anyway.

    The 16gb worked straight away!

The installation was quick and simple, Apple even provide a step-by-step guide on how to do it, Google it, so it does NOT void the warranty. Be WARNED retina models CANNOT exchange RAM because the RAM is soldered in-place on the logic board (motherboard).

My MacBook came with the standard 4gb memory and for months it had been freezing on programs as simple as Pages, which meant audio and video editing was impossible. Since the 16gb upgrade, my Mac has been operating so much faster and smoother, as it should, after all that is why I purchased the upgrade.

To conclude, the 16gb works perfectly and I recommend buying it. Thanks Crucial!

    I've a late 2013 iMac 27" with 8GB of RAM.
Installed the 16GB kit from Crucial.
Was strange, 2x4GB original RAM weber installed 4-0-4-0.
I^ve installed the additional RAM from Crucial in the empty slots.
    Result: System doesn't start!
I tried several combination. At the end the System start with the following configuration. 8-8-4-4.
After 2 days I've got a kernel panic. First time ever since I've a Mac (2009)
So I removed the original Apple 2x4GB and installed the Crucial 2x8GB in the configuration 8-0-8-0. Since then it works.

      Comments about Crucial 16GB kit (8GBx2) 204-pin SODIMM DDR3 PC3-12800:

It was easy to find compatible memory for my 2012 Mac Mini. Crucial's own price beat others. Installation was straightforward and it worked straight away. I upgraded from 4GB to 16GB and haven't really used the full capabilities yet. In normal use it's not really noticeable. I had already upgraded to an SSD and that totally transformed the computer so I'd recommend that upgrade first as giving more bang for your buck.

Arrived very quickly, inserted OK, now working well.

I suggest you try out your computer with just the power supply and before plugging in any other cables. This is so that you can check that everything is working. If the memory chip is not seated properly, you have to open up the back again.
