I bought this SSD (2TB) as an update of my inspiron 7520. It works very well, so far. It's fast and light. It was very easy to install. I am unsure of what's going to happen with the new nand SSDs: will this model be superseded within the next few months?
Not the easiest job to fit a replacement hard drive in a 2011 Mac Mini and not a job to undertake unless you are confident in taking computers apart and more importantly, putting them together again so that they work. Using an external SATA housing and cloning software, transferring the data to the new drive, making it bootable was an easy if lengthy process, due to the throughput limitations on USB2. A Thunderbolt SATA housing would speed this considerably. The new 2TB Crucial SSD has transformed my 2011 Mac Mini, which is used as a media store and streamer. It boots very rapidly and is more stable in operation than it was with the 500GB rotating drive. Accessing large 16 bit TIFF photo files (180MB) is dramatically faster and batch DNG/RAW processing runs at close to double the speed. Delighted with the new drive.
