Crucial MX300 datasheet
Increase the speed, durability, and efficiency of your system for years to come with the Crucial MX300 SSD. Boot up in seconds and fly through the most demanding applications with an SSD that fuses the latest 3D NAND flash technology with the proven success of previous MX-series SSDs. Your storage drive isn't just a container, it's the engine that loads and saves everything you do and use. Get more out of your computer by boosting nearly every aspect of performance.
Instantly improve system performance
The Crucial MX300 reaches read speeds up to 530 MB/s and write speeds up to 510 MB/s1 on all file types so you can boot up almost instantly, reduce load times, and accelerate demanding applications with ease. Plus, our Dynamic Write Acceleration technology uses an adaptable pool of high-speed, single-level cell flash memory to generate blistering speeds throughout the drive's long life.
Over 90x more energy efficient than a typical hard drive2
Extreme Energy Efficiency technology within the Crucial MX300 reduces the amount of active power usage that's consumed by the drive. The Crucial MX300 extends your laptop's battery life by using only 0.075W of power, compared to a typical hard drive which uses 6.8W.
Entrust your files to a drive that lasts
With an endurance rating of up to 400TB total bytes written, the Crucial MX300 is engineered with Micron 3D NAND to deliver years of fast performance. The 3D NAND leverages larger NAND cells to improve performance and prolong endurance.
Keep your system cool
In addition to lower active power usage, Adaptive Thermal Protection technology dynamically adjusts storage component activity. This helps keep your system cool and minimizes the risk of damage caused by overheating.
Boost drive performance by up to 10x with Crucial Storage Executive3
This downloadable tool is easy to use and helps monitor and enhance the performance of your Crucial MX300 – update to the latest firmware and enable the Momentum

Micron quality — a higher level of reliability.
As a brand of Micron, one of the largest flash storage manufacturers in the world, the Crucial MX300 is backed by the same quality and innovation that has produced some of the world's most advanced memory and storage technologies. With over a thousand hours of prerelease validation testing and hundreds of SSD qualification tests, the Crucial MX300 has been thoroughly tried, tested, and proven. You'll notice the difference.
1Based on the published specs of the 525GB model. Speeds based on internal testing. Actual performance may vary.
2Active average power use comparison based on published specs of the 750GB Crucial MX300 SSD and the 1TB Western Digital® Caviar Blue™ WD10EZEX internal hard drive, which, as of January 2016, is one of the industry’s top-selling internal hard drives. All other capacities of the Crucial MX300 SSD have comparable active average power consumption specs, with the exception of the 2050GB version of the drive, which consumes 0.15W.
3Validated by testing included in the “Enhance Burst Performance on Micron and Crucial SSDs Using Momentum Cache” whitepaper, available at www.crucial.com/usa/en/support-storage-executive.

Basically, to save yourself 3 days, do not clone from a HDD to an SSD. ALso the Acronis software DOES NOT work out of the box. You need to burn bootable media, run the cd from BIOS/Boot, change settings in bios just to get the clone to do its job. But then running the SSD does not wqork, i presume because of legacy drivers that are not addressed opr updated. But since the drive stays stable for about 15 seconds after login you have no time to sort out any issues. I eventually managed to get to windows reset screen and tried to keep settings, THIS DID NOT WORK EITHER. Basically, do a fresh install of windows on the drive. And reinstall all your software. Safest, cleanest way to use this drive. (I dont think its a fault of the drive just the process in general)

Wasted a whole day trying to install this with hours spent on the phone to Crucial. After numerous attempts, (and various solutions to try from Crucial), and time wasted cloning it more than once, it is being returned. All it did was cause MAJOR MAJOR problems in Windows 10, (hanging, freezing, not opening software, half opening software and then not being able to close it), all the way to complete lockup of laptop requiring disconnection from the mains.

Cloned the old 128 SSD ove this new one, wish I'd done ages ago
Crucial SSD has replaced a noisy and ageing HDD, My MacBook Pro is now so much quicker, quieter and cooler, I mainly use for video editing and Crucial SSD gives me faster and cleaner video clips pick up and storage. Super fast boot up is a mega bonus.
Crucial down loadable software for installation also works well. I cloned my original hard drive to the new SSD then fitted the new drive into my Dell. All worked well first time. The ability to check compatibility on your web site is reassuring when choosing products. Thanks.
Replaced a suspect 256SSD, but after applying Firmware updates on the old (5 years old) Crucial SSD that too is now working & will be a backup for my C: drive on my master PC.
Confirmed with pre-sales that they would be compatible with both my laptops.
Order 2 drives plus one USB to SATA cable.
Downloaded Acronis software (link given on Crucial web site)
1. Cloned existing hard drive to new SSD. Windows 7. This was 2 partitions on a smaller drive. It added extra to both partitions as SSD was larger. Replaced hard drive with SSD. Much faster boot.
2. Cloned existing hard drive to other SSD. Windows 10. This was one partition of 700GB but only half used. I had deleted superflous files previously. Replaced hard drive with SSD. Faster but not so significant as older machine above as this was an i7 Intel.
Used you tube to assist in replacing hard drive BUT some you tube were incorrect for one of the machines.
I had also purchased 2 USB to SATA docking stations (NOT enclosure) from Novatech. This takes either 2 1/2" or 3 1/2" drives. Ideal for taking initial backups prior to doing work (not clone, just backing up files with Windows copy)
It was so easy as long as you take things step by step.
BUT now need to modify both systems where possible to reduce the writes to get longer life on SSD.
I know nothing about computers, but I was able to use time machine to put all my stuff on this hard drive and then physically install it with no issues just by searching for how to guides online. The copying took a few hours and the installation just 30 mins. It works perfectly and my 2009 mac is now back to being lightning quick.
I had a five year old i7 Dell Inspiron N7110 with a HDD. It was so slow to load at start and every time it opened programs. Fitted a Crucial MX300 SSD and WOW! The i7 Quad Core now works at the speed it should. Laptop starts up from scratch in 10 secs, no more going off to make a coffee while it starts. I decided to do a completely fresh install of Windows 10 on the SSD and even that was so easy. Everything I do on the laptop now works at lightning speed. Wish I had done it earlier! If you haven't done it already, upgrade to an SSD, it is so worth it.
Put new life into my Macbook
Used this to replace a 1Tb hard disk in a 4-year old laptop running Windows 10. Before replacing it was taking 5 to 8 minutes to boot. Replacement was easy using the instruction video, cloning the old disk was straightforward using the included download of Acronis software and the SATA to USB I purchased at the same time. Unplugged the old disk, plugged in the SSD and switched on. Boot took 20 seconds!
I installed the SSD very easily on a 2011 MacBook Pro. Sadly the logic board died a week later - NOOOOOO!!!!!
