I have been very disappointed with the performance of my Macbook Pro. Early 2011 model, started going slow even with only half disk full and cleaning up the obvious things. I decided on the memory u/grade after testing memory use. Apple notes say model only supports 8 GB but others have installed 16GB. I tried both, the 16 is faster, about 3 x. It's almost back to new. Be careful installing though, it's so easy, but be gentle with the Mac screws, they dethread easily.

Decent piece of kit, but at first the Early 2011 17" Macbook Pro decided to not recognise the RAM, i then took it back out cleaned it and replaced it.

it works absolutely fine now, but the fan is continuously on, which i suspect is a downside to this replacement as this never happened before.

As I have only replied the RAM tonight, I have no idea what the reliability is like, although I have clearly seen a noticeably difference in speed when multiple windows are open.

I installed this 8gb ram to my Mac and when i turned it on, it worked like a charm. Very easy fitting, less than 10 minutes. To be honest there are some slight speed improvements, but not dramatic. I would recommend this product alongside with an SSD hard drive, for great speed and process improvements. I am definitely buying an SSD in the near future. As for crucial, I am very satisfied from their services. Great website to buy your hardware.

My iMac (mid 2011) recognized instantly this 8gb RAM. No problems while installing it. Speed improvements where not amazing but the iMac is a little bit faster now. I would recommend this product, but don't expect great improvements. This can only happen alongside with an SSD hard drive. That's what I am buying next. As for crucial, I am very pleased from their services, fast and accurate
