Ever start your computer, then have to find something to do while it wakes up? Your computer should be ready when you are – not the other way around. Make long wait times a thing of the past by loading apps in seconds, booting up almost instantly, and accelerating nearly everything on your computer. Get more done and have more fun with the Crucial BX200 SSD.
More than 13x faster than a typical hard drive1
Accessing your data on the Crucial BX200 is like flipping a light switch – it’s almost instant. The Crucial BX200 delivers true 540 MB/s sequential reads on both compressible and incompressible data, which allows you to access files and apps almost as soon as you click on them. Stop pulling your hair out waiting for your computer to catch up to you. Life moves fast – your computer should too.
More than 40x more energy efficient than a typical hard drive2
Since SSDs access data on cutting-edge flash memory chips rather than on outdated spinning platters, they consume significantly less power than hard drives. Enjoy the ability to do more with longer battery life and experience a cooler, quieter system. Increase your laptop’s portability, worry less about finding an outlet, and boost your productivity.
More durable than a typical hard drive
Since SSDs don’t use moving parts that wear out over time, your photos, music, videos, and everything on the drive is less susceptible to a crash. Dropping a laptop with a hard drive may damage the small mechanical parts it uses to read and write data, and could cause the hard drive to fail. SSDs can sustain more physical trauma since they don’t rely on these mechanical parts.
Better value than a typical SSD
The Crucial BX200 leverages proven flash memory technology that’s been thoroughly vetted and engineered to extensive Micron quality standards. Upgrading to an SSD is one of the best ways to improve your system’s performance, and now the price per gigabyte makes it a great time to ditch your hard drive. Start getting more out of your storage.

Was considering buying a new Mac Book as my 2010 Mac Book Pro was painfully slow with constant beach ball of death, booting at over 4 mins and opening applications took an age! Thought the spend on SSD and 8GB RAM upgrade at less than £100 might be worth a punt before spending £1200. SO GLAD I did!
I checked my hard drive use then bought the corresponding SSD (240GB) and a USB to SCSI cable - attached the new SSD via the USB converter to format and cloned my old HDD to SSD using Super Duper software FREE download. Then took back off my Mac Book Pro and plugged in SSD and 8GB of RAM and switched my laptop back on (their are loads of videos on YOUTUBE on how to do this). WOW it was good to use in under 45sec, opening applications is lightening fast, and beach ball of death so familiar to Mac users has been non existent since upgrade (2 weeks ago) and I use my Mac Book daily!
My Mac Book is like a new machine, fast and efficient, thank you Crucial your SSD and RAM saved me over £!100. If you are finding your machine sluggish I would highly recommend this before you do! I love my Mac again now and lost all interest in buying a new one!
I used this product to speed up a semi-elderly laptop that I wanted to use for software development when travelling. Boot time is now less than 30 seconds but, more importantly, build times are down from over a minute to 10 seconds which makes the laptop usable. I also bought an adapter bracket so I can transfer the drive to my main desktop machine if and when the laptop "dies".
The drive itself works very well, the only downside being the cloning procedure and software where the instructions are brief. In summary, you have to install the new drive first and attach the old drive via USB. Then boot Acronis from DVD and clone. Other software might be better.
Still, I'm very pleased and would recommend this drive.
This SSD turned my four and a half year old Macbook into a better than new Macbook!
(I also upgraded by RAM using 16GB of Crucial memory)
Great product along with Crucial reputation for reliability. Ordered online and delivered next day.
Excellent company to deal with.
I'm very happy with this SSD.
I bought it to upgrade my system that is an Intel DX58SO motherboard, together with RAM upgrade.
Was on sale, so I did not resist to buy.
I installed on computer using provided software and all was fine:
-Installed the SSD on a secondary SATA channel
-Downloaded and installed the Acronis software
-Cleaned the 1tb disk (Windows 10) to reach less than 240gb (to fit in SSD)
-Cloned the disk
-Swapped SATA cable of 2 disks
The only messy part was due to Windows 10, not allowing to delete hidden partition that were in old 1tb disk, I had to do it manually after finding intructions on how to use the Diskpart command.
My system is a SATA3, not using all potential of the the SATA6 SSD, but after installing the SSD and upgrading RAM from 6gb to 12gb now is 4 times faster when booting and much faster even on normal use, like in Chrome.
Bought this to install in an 8-year old Acer laptop PC. It has transformed it from a sluggish machine on verge of failure to one that is now fast and very useable. Delighted with this purchase. Now considering buying one for my daughter's 2-year-old laptop too.
The Clone software was very very easy to use and worked perfectly.
You will need to buy a USB-SATA cable for this but they're < £10, so no great additional expense.
I would definitely recommend this product.
I used the product for cloning a HHD using Vista and suspected performance issues with HHD, now using SSD, vista operates very quickly with no issues.
This SSHD has given my 6 year old laptop a new life by significantly boosting its performance.
The price per GB finally tempted me into upgrading to an SSD. So glad I did, the difference is astonishing!
Would recommend making sure you have the right gear to mount the drive first, I ended up buying a cheap plastic caddy so it could slot into a 3.5in HDD bay.
Great SSD drive, the cloning software provided is very helpful for PC but useless for Mac.
