How to determine your system's make and model

If you don't know your system's specs, you can use our award-winning Crucial System Scanner tool, which will scan your system and offer a list of compatible upgrades. When you use our System Scanner, we'll determine your system's make and model, along with a detailed report on the amount of memory you currently have installed to how much memory your system is designed to handle. Since we have compatibility information for more than 50,000 systems and counting, we're confident that we've got your system's specs in our database.
When you use our System Scanner, you'll also receive a list of modules that are compatible with your system. Not all types, densities, and speeds of memory work well together when combined, and we take this into account. We want your system to perform at its best!
If you don't know your system's make and model, but would prefer to look them up manually, there are three ways to do so:
Look on your system's case cover. Most computers, printers, laptops, cameras, and servers will list the information you need somewhere on the outside of the machine. If it's not on the front, look on the back. Also check any labels or metal plates attached to your system.
Boot up your system and watch your screen closely. If you don't see a make and model printed on the outside of your computer, try turning it on. Most computers will quickly flash this information on the monitor screen as they boot up.
