While iPads® are useful, handy, and often required for work, they don’t offer much in terms of storage. Since the release of iPadOS™, users have been able to attach extra storage in the form of external hard drives, making it possible to save and access more files than ever before.
When paired with a Crucial external SSD, your iPad Pro® can be used to transfer photos, videos, apps, and other important forms of data. You can even use third-party apps to import directly to your iPad from a Crucial SSD without having to use proprietary Apple® apps.
The first step is to plug your Crucial portable SSD into your iPad Pro through the USB-C port or an adapter if using the Lightning® connector on other pre-2018 iPad models.
First, plug one end of the USB-C cable into the drive. Next, plug the other end into either the USB-C port or Lightning connector with a Lightning adapter into your iPad Pro.
Note: Make sure when using the USB-A adapter that the alignment marks on the adapter match up with the alignment marks on the cable. If these marks are not aligned, read and write performance of the drive is reduced.
Locate and open your files app. Once opened, locate your Crucial portable SSD in the sidebar and open it.
The iPad Pro is more useful than ever before thanks to iPadOS and the ability to connect to an external storage device. Paired with a Crucial portable SSD, your iPad Pro will have all the storage you need.
External hard drives offer a plethora of advantages for enhancing device usage, and this includes iPad Pro. An external hard drive like the Crucial X9 for Mac can be a game-changer, especially given its high capacity and performance. It provides up to 4TB of storage and transfer speeds up to 1,050MB/s. It offers a reliable backup option that protects your data in the event of device failure.
